On Aug. 9th, 2013, I met up with artists from across the state to paint at the beautiful Sweetgrass Community near Blowing Rock, NC.

There were many more artists in attendance, but this property is so large that it’s quite normal to not see most people all day…only at lunch of course. Nothing brings artists together like food, especially when it’s free!
At Sweetgrass, you have a beautiful view of the backside of Grandfather Mountain.
I met up with the Allen family who I met last year. These wonderful people ended up purchasing the painting!
After getting ran out of Boone Fork Creek due to some thunder and lightning and heavy rains, I set my easel on the picnic table to finish the painting I started.
