Sometimes you just need to get away to find that scene that’s fresh for new inspiration…but, sometimes you can just look in your backyard. It’s not always a change of subject matter that you need, sometimes, it’s just a change of light.
I actually named this painting before I painted it. While walking through the woods in my backyard in the evening, I noticed this tree in the spotlight as if it were a soloist with all the other trees singing in the background. Inspired by this simple yet profound play of light, I had to paint it.
